Pen Turning Course

If you’re thinking of buying or you already own a small lathe, this course is for you. Our one day course encompasses what you can achieve with pen making. By the end of the day, you’ll not only leave with completed, professionally finished masterpieces, you’ll also go away with a multitude of ideas and skills. What you will learn Our one day, hands-on course will give you a step-by-step guide into selecting materials, drilling and gluing, mounting the workpiece and the tools you’ll use in pen making. In addition, your tutor will guide you on the best ways to finish an array of different materials. Furthermore, they will demonstrate and explain techniques to enable you to achieve a professional end product without making all the classic mistakes along the way. What you’ll take home 1 Acrylic pen, 1 Wooden pen, 1 Polyester pen Certificate of attendance ‘How to sheet’ – Course details Items you take home can change depending on the resources and materials available on the day. Additional information You will start your day with a welcome talk, including a hot drink, health and safety brief and a breakdown and review of the equipment you will be using. This is a ‘hands-on’ course, each student being able to work at their own pace. The tutor will be able to demonstrate and explain the techniques to the group as a whole and individuals as required. The minimum age is 14 years old and anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an ***** for the duration of the course and must not be left unattended during class hours.
