Course overview This two-week intensive course is designed for those considering entering full-time courses at drama school or university, or interested in improving their audition technique. You will concentrate on the exploration of selected texts, both classic and contemporary, and examining the clues for performance that these texts offer. Textual exploration is supported by voice and movement work offered by a specialist team of tutors, helping you to sharpen and refine your acting skills. You are expected to have prepared two pieces (one contemporary, one period) before joining the course, which must not be from Central’s audition speeches list for full-time courses. You will need to have experience of drama and be highly motivated. Course Detail Dates: 10 days. 10:00 – 16:30 each day. Monday 3 August – Friday 14 August 2020 (No class Sat/Sun) Location: Central’s main campus in Swiss Cottage, London. Minimum Age: 17 years Maximum class size: 14 (there will be two classes of up to 14 students each – please note, some elements will be delivered with the two classes together but there will always be two tutors in the room) Requirements: Applicants must be confident speaking and understanding English to a conversational level (IELTS score of 7.0 or equivalent) Concessionary rate: A discount is available to those that are in receipt of UK benefits for either disability or unemployment.
