Working Knowledge and HCUC – Developing Industry Behaviou…

From the 11th-15th November 2019 inclusive, Working Knowledge is partnering with Harrow FE College to run Stage One of another ambitious programme to dramatically improve the career opportunities available to 1600 students at the college. This event is focussed on students looking to launch a career in Health and Care. We know that for our economy to grow the workplace needs a steady stream of work-ready, eager, confident, creative and ambitious new young employees. But to achieve this, we need your help since as educators we cannot know what actually happens in your industry on a day-to-day basis and more importantly what skills and attributes are required of new young employees or indeed freelancers/entrepreneurs. What happens on the day? We don’t ask our Volunteers to give speeches or presentations or prepare anything before the day. Interactive and hands-on, this day will take students on a journey into the world of work. Your role is to share your career-journey, experiences and opinions to give the students an insight into what skills and attitudes they need to succeed.  In addition, we ask at this event that you particularly focus on the people (your network) that have helped you, and continue to help you, on your career journey. You can watch a video from a similar day by clicking here You will work with small groups of Health and Care students for short periods of time in a structured way with the support of a tutor. Refreshments will be available. .
