SILVER JEWELLERY: Silver Ring Set with a Cabochon With Ka…

THE COURSE During this two-day workshop, students will have the opportunity to make a silver ring, set with a cabochon stone.  A cabochon is a stone that is shaped and polished, rather than faceted.  Skills taught will include how to make the ring, measuring to achieve the correct finger size and how to set the cabochon stone as well as final polishing and finishing. TUTOR Tutor Kate Arbon has been designing and making jewellery for twenty years.  For the majority of that time she was resident jeweller at Walford Mill Crafts in Wimborne. Now, having settled in West Dorset, she is focusing on teaching and developing new collections of silver and gold jewellery. MATERIALS FOR YOUR COURSE All the silver for the course will be supplied as well as a selection of different stones to choose from but there will be an additional chargefor materials, which will be between £20 – £30 depending on how much and what is used.  This cost will need to be paid directly to the tutor by cheque or cash at the end of the course. Please bring an apron or smock to protect your clothes. Lunch, tea and coffee is included for all students, please advise regarding dietary requirements when booking or on the booking form.
