Essentially it’s the highlights from some of the greatest operas ever written….., the moments in an opera that bring the house down in operas such as Carmen, Aida, Samson and Delilah, Turandot, Cavalleria Rusticana, La boheme and more besides. And who can forget Nessun Dorma as the theme of the 1990 World Cup in Italy, or the Intermezzo from Cavalleria Rusticana on the soundtrack of Martin Scorses’s Raging Bull starring Robert de Niro. Experience the passion of Puccini, the grandeur of Verdi, the wit of Offenbach, the fervour of Saint-Saens and lots, lots more. Our soprano soloist Rachel Marsh and tenor soloist Andrew Rawlings from Dennis O’Neill’s acclaimed Wales International Academy of Voice join the orchestra in an evening of spectacular opera greats.
