This event is specially intended to teach you how to create stunning landscape/nature images in a beautiful forest. Shooting locations are held at Devilla Forest in Kincardine, Fife. Devilla covers 700 ha of forest, much of which was planted in the 1950s. You can leave the way-marked trail and explore the network of paths that extend through one of the largest pine forests in the Scottish lowlands. The red squirrel has made a stronghold of Devilla, which in turn has made these tranquil woodlands a focus for efforts to conserve the embattled native species in Fife. There are four lochs to find, home to thriving wildlife, including otters. Among the trees are many relics of past times, such as an enigmatic stone monument and a gravestone that marks the resting place of three children who died of the plague in 1645. As a professional photographer, I will offer individual assistance during the workshop to make your experience an enjoyable and successful one, so that at the end of the day you will go back home with a collection of lovely shots you’ll be proud of. Yes, you must be minimum 18 to attend this workshop and I need to see an ID showing your date of birth. What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event? Meeting point will be at the Alloa Train Station parking lot so no matter if you are driving or coming by train, all participants can meet at the same easy point. From there, we’ll reach by car our location spot of the day for which I know very well the available parking areas. What can I bring into the event? Your camera first 😉 which ideally should be a Mirrorless or DSLR. If you have a tripod and remote shutter control (not a obligation but can be useful) bring in it with you. Don’t forget your batteries and memory cards! Dressing code is of course «Casual’ and the one thing very important is to wear easy and good waterproof walking shoes as we will be walking most of the day on the Countryside. A raincoat might be wise to also have with you considering our ever changing Scottish weather. A good idea should be to also bring with you some snacks and drinks as we will not be very close to shops for a few hours. How can I contact the organiser with any questions? Basically there is no refund at all so you must be sure to assist the workshop when buying your ticket. In fact, there are associated costs to run this workshop with no possible refund either so this is the main reason for this strict policy. Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? It should be great but not an obligation as long as you have an ID with you. Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable? It is not supposed to be at first but to compensate the fact that there is no refund available and considering unfortunate things may happen, I will allow a transferrable ticket in the case of a major situation. The major situation to be defined and/or accepted at the sole discretion of the organiser but for example, a broken leg or arm will of course do it. In this case, and only after approval, you must let me know of all details about the person holding the transferred ticket and assisting the event. Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn’t match the person who attends? In exceptional situation as described above, yes it can be OK. But, once again, transferring a ticket to someone else has to be accepted first by the organiser and also few days before the day of the event itself.
