Making sense of Autism

Are you a professional (schools, health, education & social care) working with children & young people with SEND living in Buckinghamshire?

About this Event

If the answer is yes, then Buckinghamshire Council have an exciting new opportunity for you.

In partnership with colleagues from Health, FACT Bucks and SENDIAS, we will be running FREE training sessions to support those caring for or working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) within Buckinghamshire.

At the end of this session you will:

  • be able to identify the four key areas of difference that need to be taken into account when working with a child with autism
  • know the importance of knowing the child/young person with autism and their profile of strengths and weaknesses
  • be able to identify the key areas to help children with autism build key relationships with staff and their peers
  • know that many children/young people with autism can be unusually sensitive to everyday senses. This can affect their learning and emotional state.
