Chartham Food & Wine Walking Day Tour

Join us on a leisurely tour of the best food and wine Chartham has to offer. Starting at 10am with an informative tour of the Wonky Parsnip, a market garden growing over 150 weird and wonderful varieties of produce all outside in Chartham on just one acre. The Wonky Parsnip supply’s restaurants across Kent an London, here you will learn about growing, cooking ideas for the more unusual veg and have the opportunity to taste a whole host of produce picked yourself from the patch including everything from Cucamelons to Tomatillos. We will then have a tea and cake break in a lovely garden area on the farm situated next to the river. (Veg boxes can be pre-ordered and collected on the day at a special tour price giving you 20% off. £10 box is £8, £15 box £12. To order send us an email once booked (thewonkyparsnip@gmail.com) Following tea and cake, we will take a leisurely stroll down the Stour River around 15mins to Chartham Vineyard. (You are welcome to drive and meet us there). Here we will have a special tour and tasting at Chartham Vineyard, an award winning family run artisan vineyard and get to try some very fine wine, learning about viticulture in the process. Wine is of course is available for you to buy here on the day if you so choose, along with art work. For the final stop on our foodie day, we will walk 15mins from Chartham Vineyard to a beautiful traditional English pub The Artichoke, which is more than 700 years old. Here we will sit together in a beautiful pub restaurant and enjoy a special Kentish menu laid on for us, options such as a traditional ploughman’s or Kentish sausage, mash and Wonky Parsnip veg. Why not enjoy with a pint of Kentish brewed beer! Tour concludes around 3.30pm as we stroll back though some lovely farmland along a public footpath back to The Wonky Parsnip where your cars will walk takes around 15mins. £55 per person plus booking fee.
