An Introduction to Doll Making with Katy Livings

We are delighted to welcome back Katy Livings, textile designer and maker of exquisite heirloom dolls to Needle & Thread for her special workshop, An Introduction to Doll Making! Katy will work with you to construct your own doll or rabbit using a variety of pretty fabrics and trims. You will create a doll/rabbit with button-jointed arms, detachable skirt and spend time making accessories choosing from capes and little punched leather bags or crowns. Katy will show you hand-embroidery techniques for **** details to create an heirloom of your own. All fabrics and toy stuffing will be provided, but do bring along any cherished fabrics of your own should you wish to incorporate them. £90 including all materials, equipment, mid morning cake (of course) and a healthy lunch! (Please note due to time restraints your rabbit or doll will feature a detachable skirt and cape an/or other accessories rather than a full dress as these take rather longer to make than the time available on the workshop, although you can go on to make her a whole new wardrobe at home!).
