WATERCOLOUR FOR BEGINNERS WORKSHOP With Stephen Yates, Sculpture by the Lakes, Saturday, 19. October 2019

THE COURSE
This one-day watercolour course guides beginners through different painting techniques to develop new skills and ideas and, most importantly, confidence in using watercolour. Artist Stephen Yates leads the course, enabling participants to gain experience and direction and be inspired by working from still life, natural and built environment and photographs. The versatility of watercolours will be explored individually and as a group. You will start with the basics of watercolour painting, learning about dry brush, techniques to lift paint, as well as dry scratching, wet-in-wet and different washes. All aspects of achieving a successful painting at the end of the day will be covered.
