Trauma Informed Practice – Level 1 (26 August 2020)

The Transforming Trauma National Training Framework sets out 4 levels of training for different parts of the workforce.   This training sits at the Informed Practice Level One (baseline). The workshop will enable participants to: gain an understanding of trauma and it’s causes including an understanding of the definition and evidence base. consider the effects and impact of trauma and resilience in this context. learn how to respond positively to support recovery and avoid re-traumatisation recognise an individual affected by trauma so that they can direct them towards help understand the importance of self-care and support in the context of being part of trauma informed service Trainer Emily Steedman has over 13 years’ experience of working with Health in Mind. Currently she is a Project Worker with the Trauma Support Services.  Emily has a keen interest and passion for using creative tools to foster collective advocacy and raise awareness of the difficulties and barriers faced by people affected by trauma. She has an MSc in Community Education and many years of experience facilitating workshops. Terms and conditions This course is Health in Mind’s main offices, 40 Shandwick Place. Our training room is on the second floor and is not accessible for people with mobility issues. If you would like to participate in the course and have mobility issues, please contact us and we will relocate the course to an accessible venue.  Training bookings on Eventbrite are best paid for by credit or debit card using Visa, Mastercard or American Express.  If you need to cancel your booking and give more than 30 days’ notice, we will refund 50% of your fee.  If due to unforeseen circumstances we have to change the course date, and it is not suitable for you, we will refund 100% of the payment.
