The Future of Energy seminar – The Festival of Sustainable Business, Burges Salmon, Tuesday, 17. September 2019

The Future Economy Network is proud to be presenting this seminar with subscribers and sponsors Bristol Energy. They will be joined by representatives from Fieldfisher and The Carbon Trust.

Bristol, amongst other cities, towns and villages has declared a climate emergency and our local leaders have set a target to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030. What needs to change within our energy systems to achieve this objective? What are the business opportunities associated with decentralised, low carbon energy systems? And what funding opportunities are available to achieve this ambition?

The Carbon Trust: Local level response to the climate emergency: energy systems and action planning.
This presentation will discuss moving from climate emergency declaration to action, responding to the need to decarbonise in line with the Paris Agreement and the UK government’s net zero target. It will include details on decentralised energy at a local level and the opportunities and engagement required from the business sector. The presentation will also cover a brief overview of the Green Business Fund programme for small to medium-sized businesses, which provides support and advice for energy efficiency.
