Spindle Moulding Training

The spindle moulder is a very adaptable and versatile piece of equipment. This one day spindle moulding course will show you how to set the machine up correctly and use it safely. In addition, your tutor will impart their skills and knowledge of the machine and teach you how to get the best results from this excellent machine. What you will learn On your one day course, you will learn how to set the spindle moulder up correctly and how to use it safely. Sharing skills and techniques, your tutor will give you advice on various types of tooling and how to fit and use them. You will cover tool sharpening and the correct way to store and look after tooling. You will learn how to set up fences and guards and understand how to position tooling fences to give the required cut. For maximum safety the positioning of guards, featherboards and the use of push sticks will also be considered. You will cover moulding and rebating, tenoning and end grain work and the use and benefits of a sliding carriage. In addition to all this, your tutor will demonstrate how to make a cabinet door. Additional information You will start your day with a welcome talk, including a hot drink, health and safety brief and a breakdown and review of the machines you will be using. This course is aimed at people who own or use a spindle moulder and need advice on safe and best practice or for those people thinking of purchasing a spindle moulder. The minimum age is 14 years old and anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an ***** for the duration of the course and must not be left unattended during class hours.
