Sourdough with Naan breads, Bagels, & Focaccia, Oken's Kitchen, Sunday, 17. March 2019

What you will learn
Our all day bread making experience covers the beautiful, if not mysterious, world of sourdough making. The day includes hydration rates, kneading techniques and tips on how to create that strong gluten window needed for the perfect homemade sourdough boule or sourdough focaccia bread.
The class cover the various yeasts available and how to use or cultivate them including wild fruit yeasts and commercial yeasts.
Due to the length of time needed to create that perfect sourdough, you'll also be able to make delicious hand rolled home baked bagels, same day sourdough naan breads and you will take homeEach person also takes away with them a bag of goodies, including bagels, focaccia, a sourdough boule, a selection of naan breads, a collection of recipes, a jar of our own 4 year old Leamington Spa sourdough starter and new found skills in a fun, informal, collaborative home kitchen environment.

The ingredients you will use
You will be using locally milled unbleached flours and natural ingredients.

Workshop size
Depending on location the groups are 4-10 people. If you have a group of friends you can book a bespoke workshop - please enquire for details.

What you will eat
Included in the day is a homemade freshly prepared lunch of sourdough breads, homemade dips and sharing plates of antipasti with refreshments served throughout the class.
Afternoon tea is served later with homemade cake and coffee or tea. Each person will be given all of the ingredients, equipment, tools, aprons and recipes to use throughout the day.
Food Intolerances are catered for at your experience so please let us know if you have any dietary requirements.
