Sourdough Baking - Beginner's Course
On this one day course you will learn how to make sourdough bread at home. The course is designed for someone with little or no experience of bread making and has a 3:1 ratio of students to teachers.
The course is led by David and Blake. David ia a third generation baker who has won local and national awards for his baking, including The Baking Industry Award for Best Baker in 2017 and is also a judge for the Britain's Best Loaf competition. Blake is a home sourdough baker and a qualified teacher with 10 years experience. He has developed tried and tested recipes that can work in any home kitchen with limited equipment.
The course is relaxed and friendly, concentrating on one simple recipe that will give you a great introduction to the benefits and beauty of sourdough bread. You will also learn about the health benefits of good bread, some history about David's bakery and some useful techniques for the home baker.
The course runs from 9am - 3pm (please arrive 15mins early for coffee and pastries) and includes teas, coffee, seasonal lunch and of course, bread. If you have any dietary requirements then please let us know so we can prepare something for you.
At the end of the day you will leave with:
- Baked Sourdough Loaf
- Fermenting Dough to be Baked at Home
- Sourdough Starter

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
Not suitable for children under the age of 6. Minors under 16 must be accompanied by a ***** who is also participating in the course.

What's the refund policy?
Please provide written notice via email 7 days in advance. We will happily transfer you to another course date without cost, subject to availability. In the unlikely event that we need to cancel an event we will give a full refund.
