Sonic Sunday Gong Bath , The Positivity Centre, Sunday, 07. July 2019

A perfect way to end your weekend with a deeply relaxing gong bath at the lovely Positivity Centre.
Allow yourself to be transported into your own deep space of connection and peace, bathing in the vibrational energies of the healing Gong.
I will be playing Meinl’s 32” Don Conreaux Eight Corners of Heaven Mirror Gong which has a wonderful mix of depth and brightness to its sound. The gong features a unique appearance with ancient symbols set against a mirror finish. The eight runic glyphs represent the cycle of life and suggest that the sound of the gong originates in the eight corners of heaven propelling the cycle of life on earth.
Doors open at 5.45pm to start at 6.00pm at the Positivity Centre, Nashdom Lane, Burnham, SL1 8NJ. Free parking available on site.
Gong Bath dates are;
Sunday 19th May at 6pm
Sunday 9th June at 6pm
Sunday 7th July at 6pm
Please arrive at least 15 minutes early to get settled in. The Gong Bath will last for an hour, ending at 7.00pm. Those attending are welcome to stay on for tea and chat afterwards. Please note; No late arrivals, we have to close the main door to make sure that no-one will be disturbed by those who are running late. Thank you for your understanding.

What to bring and wear
Bring a bottle of water. Wear loose, comfortable clothes, layers are best. Yoga mats, blankets and eye masks will be provided by the Positivity Centre. However, you may also like to bring a pillow and an extra blanket or sleeping bag for extra comfort and warmth as body temperature drop quickly when in a state of relaxation.
The Power of the Gong
The gong has been used throughout history as a ceremonial and healing instrument. It is believed to have been around for up to 5000 years, since the beginning of the Bronze Age. The vibration of the gong is a powerful method for reducing stress. The gong creates an ocean of sound that is profoundly relaxing; a state which activates the parasympathetic nervous system to balance the over amped, over taxed, sympathetic nervous system.
Water has often been used as an analogy for the rippling effect of the gong’s vibrations, partly because our bodies are approximately 70 percent water and water serves to conduct sound waves. Like ripples created by a pebble skimmed across a lake, the gong’s sound gently reverberates over, around and through the entire body to calm, relax and soothe. The gong induces a holistic resonance in the body and a spontaneous meditative state in the mind, resulting in a sense of expanded awareness and wholeness.
I look forward to sharing the Sound Space with you on the night.
