SETsquared Workshop,
Respectfully yours: designing for data protection
Speaker: Ed Boal, Senior Solicitor; Becky Abercrombie, Trainee Solicitor

Overview:
How do you comply with a complex piece of law like the GDPR when developing products and services? Simple. You design them to meet the GDPR’s requirements from the ground up!

Within the GDPR’s 173 recitals and 99 articles, organisations are required to implement ‘Data Protection by Design’ (DPbD) – a call to arms for designers, developers and everyone in between to design products and services that respect the rights of users when it comes to their personal data.

Join Ed and Becky from Stephenson Law on International Data Protection Day to explore what DpbD means in practice, drawing on examples of products and services ‘in the wild’.

And – yes – there will be cookies! Edible ones!
