RSPB Capturing First Light on Havergate, RSPB Havergate Island, Friday, 23. August 2019

Are you a budding amateur wildlife photographer who would jump at the chance to spend an early morning on Havergate Island?
We have arranged a couple of special trips for you to spend an exclusive morning on Suffolk's only island so you can capture those once in a lifetime shots of Havergate's unique and diverse scenery and the wildlife that live on it in the early morning light. One trip will be in the summer, the other in winter to give you a variety of photographic challenges depending on what you are after.
Along with the waders feeding on the lagoons, you might be lucky enough to witness the beautiful Barn Owls hunting along the sea walls.  As the sun rises, the islands smaller inhabitants such as butterflies will become more active feeding on the array of coastal wild flowers. With some luck and field craft, you may even get up close and personal with one of the island's famous wild brown hares.
Only 8 places are available on this trip so you’ll really feel like you are the only person on the island. This is a non guided event but a guide will be present and will happily point you in the right direction to finding the birds and hares or you can wander and just capture the moments as they present themselves.
You will need to bring your own food but hot tea and coffee will be available for you to help yourself to.
You need to have a reasonable level of fitness for this trip as it requires getting on and off the boat and walking with your equipment on sometimes uneven, muddy or wet ground.
In adverse weather conditions, the trip may be cancelled at short notice at the warden's discretion; in this case, you will get a full refund of your booking fee.
When booking please provide a valid phone number and e-mail as your booking confirmation will be sent via e-mail. We need a valid phone number (landline and mobile) in case we need to get hold of you urgently to update you with changes/cancellation.
