Rebellious Sounds Archive: Record Your Story - Barnstaple, Barnstaple Library, Wednesday, 13. February 2019

Record your story for the Rebellious Sounds Archive in Barnstaple Library (North Devon).
Wednesday 13th and Wednesday 20th February 2019 (2 sessions available on each day, 2pm and 3:30pm).
Do you have a story of activism to share? We invite all women who would like to have their story of activism documented for the Heritage Lottery Fund supported Rebellious Sounds Archive to take part in an oral history recording session on the 13th or 20th February at Barnstaple Library.
There are 2 sessions available on each day to record your story/stories of activism (recordings usually take around 1 hour but 1.5 hours is given to allow time to talk). Once you've booked a session via Eventbrite, Carmen will be in touch with more information.
Wednesday 13th February

Session 1: 2pm - 3:00pm
Session 2: 3:30pm - 5pm

Wednesday 20th February

Session 1: 2pm - 3:00pm
Session 2: 3:30pm - 5pm

Over the last 14 months we've collected some inspiring, heartfelt and empowering stories from the region and are looking to hear from anyone who would like to add their mark to our archive of oral herstories, and especially members of the BAME and LGBTQ+ community. Activism comes in many forms; it may be public protest or campaigning, signing a petition, it may be in opposition to a controversial issue or it may be for a particular individual, group, or organisation in need. Hear excerpts from the stories collected so far here:

If you have a story of activism to tell but the spaces on the day are booked, then get in touch with Project Coordinator Carmen Talbot to arrange an alternative time to record on .
