Organising library events with a difference: embracing wellbeing in a study environment, Workshops A & B, 2nd floor, Wednesday, 22. May 2019

We are interested in hearing from potential presenters who would like to talk about successful (or indeed, disastrous!) library events or promotional activities that they have organised with an emphasis on student wellbeing and cross departmental collaboration. What worked well? How did you promote the event? What other teams were involved and what were the outcomes?
Ideally we’d like your talks to have an interactive element in order that attendees go away with some potential ideas to take back with them to their own institutions.
So far we will be hearing from;

Kerstin Treder (Aston University)
Claire Smith (Keele University)

In addition Selena Teeling (Aston University) will provide a short demonstration of a yoga-based stretch/breathing activity that students could do in limited space. Jan Scott (Aston University) will also run her mindfulness taster activity. We hope that attendees will join in but don’t worry, we won’t force you to! We hope that these activities will help generate ideas for what could be achieved at your own events.
We also require enthusiastic audience members that are willing to join in the discussion. It’s an informal event and there will be time for networking over tea, coffee and biscuits.
