Mental Resilience & Mixed Mental Arts foundations training
Michael Matania, Founder and CEO of Tough Cookie  is offering a training course in Mental Resilience to the Frome community.
The training programme consists of two four-hour sessions where attendees will be trained in ‘Mixed Mental Arts’ - a toolkit of twelve evidence-based skills to manage thoughts and emotions.
The training will include 6 optional ‘integration’ sessions, facilitated by Amelia Parisian, Edventure:Frome's programmes lead. These will enable the participants to develop greater expertise in applying the techniques and integrating them into their day-to-day life.
4-hour Training Day 1 – 20/09/19 - 9.30-2.30 


Module 1 - Breaking our addiction to thought 


Module 2 - Hacking the body's stress response


Module 3 - Neutralising unhelpful thought patterns


4-hour Training Day 2 – 18/10/19 - 9.30-2.30


Module 4 - Navigating overwhelming experiences


Module 5 - Re-learning relaxation


Module 6 - Reclaiming emotional autonomy


1-hour practise & integration sessions (optional)

About the facilitator
Michael is the founder of Tough Cookie. His background is in mental health where he designed and delivered various frontline programmes for the national mental health charity Mind. Specialising in prevention and mental resilience, Michael co-created the UK’s biggest peer-led mental resilience programme, established the Employee Champions professional network for the 'Time to Change' national mental health campaign and was a co-designer of Minds 'Whole School Approach' (WSA) to Mental Health National Strategy for England & Wales.
