Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) 2 day course 30th April & 1st May 2019 (9.00-4.30pm), Plymouth & District Mind, Tuesday, 30. April 2019

MHFA is an intensive course that will provide an overview of common mental health problems, causes, symptoms and treatments. MHFA is perfect for those wanting to know more about mental health and how it affects others. This internationally recognised course is certified by the Department of Health. This course is for anyone who may come into contact with a person with a mental health difficulty, including stress, either in their workplace or life outside of work. This 2 day course will teach participants to:

Preserve life where a person may be a danger to themselves or others
Provide initial comfort to someone experiencing mental distress
Guide a person towards professional help
Promote the recovery of good mental health
Reduce stigma and discrimination through education.

The course will delivered at Plymouth & District Mind and will run from 9.00-4.30pm on the 30th May (Tuesday) & 1st May (Wednesday) 2019.
Refreshments (tea/coffee) will be provided, but we would ask all participants to bring their lunch with them.
PLEASE NOTE:
1) We have a chair lift from the ground floor to the training room for anyone with mobility issues. 
2) There is no parking on the premises and parking is restricted on the streets surrounding our building between 10-11am on both days. Please note there are paid-for carparks in Mutley which is only 15 minutes walk away.
