Make Your Own Chutneys, Jams & Pickles Practical Workshop, The Healthy Body Happy Mind Project, Sunday, 26. January 2020

In this fun, hands on homemade chutney, pickle and jam making workshop we will teach you how to make a range of preserves including chilli jam, tomato chutney, aubergine chutney and chorizo jam. (For non meat eaters we can change the chorizo jam for another chutney or jam of your choice) You will learn about the art of making homemade preserves and be shown tips and tricks to get the best results when preserving vegetables.
Starting with a brief history of preserves and different techniques used, you will make several chutneys, pickles and jams which we will sample in our tasting session at the end of the workshop.
In the final part of the workshop we will sit down to eat some delicious freshly baked homemade sourdough bread and a selection of homemade chutneys, pickles and jams we have just made in the workshop along with some homemade cheese. There will be an assortment of herbal teas and infusions, cafetière coffee, homemade hot chocolate and infused water.
You will take home with you:
- Samples of the chutneys, pickles and jams we made in the workshop- Handbook with full instructions and recipes for all the chutneys, jams and pickles. As well as a sourdough bread starter culture and recipes for sourdough bread making.
We run all our workshops in a kitchen and dining area where we have a large dining table for you to work at and plenty of worktop space to store your samples for later and taste all the delicious cheeses, homemade chutneys, jams and homemade breads. The chairs are nice and comfy and you will get a good view of the screen where we will show instructions for you to follow and examples of everything we will be learning about. 
This workshop is great fun and you will learn how to make great chutneys, pickles and jams. You will get really detailed step by step notes to take home with all the recipes and loads of goodies too.
No previous cooking experience required. Children are welcome to attend from 10 years old and upwards when accompanied by a responsible ***** aged 18 years old and above. Please wear comfy clothes and shoes and bring an apron if you wish. Be prepared to have lots of fun and meet some great people!

I've been teaching people how to cook and eat healthily for over 30 years and love to make new things and experiment with flavours and textures. I run a whole range of workshops from cheese making, fermented foods and drinks, bread making, making protein bliss *****, making Christmas treats and learning to cook healthy vegetarian and plant based recipes.
All the proceeds from the workshops we run at The Healthy Body Happy MInd Project go towards treatments for people recovering from cancer and chronic illness. We are unable to offer any refunds. We can book you onto another workshop on a different date or give you a workshop gift voucher valid for 12 months so you can rebook at your convenience.
