Law Taster Day , University of Roehampton London, Friday, 21. June 2019

Join us for this Taster Day, where you will have a chance to attend two lectures, explore our beautiful parkland campus and discover what it’s like to study at the University of Roehampton. The sessions will be delivered by Dr Sandradee Urquhart, who is a Senior Lecturer at Roehampton Law School and a practising barrister.
During the first lecture, “Life at Law School”, we take students through how to prepare best for law school, what to expect and how to do well. We also take students through sample exercises looking at developing legal skills and understanding. And we start to look at how students can plan while at law school for the next stage of their careers, giving hints and tips. The second lecture, “Law in Practice”, will be looking at some key areas of law in practical terms, helping students to decipher the jargon they encounter during their legal training and while undertaking their pathways to practice law. We demystify the existing routes to practice (paralegal, LPC, BPTC) and the incoming Solicitors Qualifying Examination, due in 2021, as well as explaining the landscape into which law students will qualify.
