Kundalini Yoga- "Connect to Source" mixed level course

Join me for an introduction to Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan: suitable for all levels of experience of this incredible practise. You will be guided through a series of yogic exercises and meditation to develop physical, mental and emotional strength and flexibility, whilst also developing a deep awareness of your self, your mind, your body and your spirit. 
When Yogi Bhajan arrived in Los Angeles in the late 1960's he taught a safe and effective way to natural health and wellness. Preaching a message of drug free living and alternative ways of getting high, the teachings of kundalini yoga became a way for anyone to experience higher states of consciousness.
Kundalini Yoga is a physical and meditative discipline that combines postures (asanas), breath (pranayama), and the chanting of mantras. Kundalini refers to the energy that lays dormant at the base of the spine. Through the practice of yoga, this energy is raised and travels up the spine, through the chakras, creating an overall sense of well being and a heightened sense of awareness. The word Kundalini literally translates as a “coiled female serpent.”
Traditionally the techniques of Kundalini were only communicated from Master to disciple and through a long initation process. In 1969 Yogi Bhajan began teaching kundalini yoga openly to the public. Yogi Bhajan defines yoga as such: “Yoga means a discipline of mind and body. There is nothing mysterious about it. Yoga does not explain the meaning of life... It’s aim is to develop a quality of mind which can perceive reality and acquire self knowledge."
All ages (14yrs +) and all bodies and abilities very welcome. You simply do your best in a Kundalini Yoga practise and that is perfect! Self-love and self-awareness are paramount in achieving the desired effects of raising your energetic vibration and cleansing your system at a pace that works best for you- this will be different for everyone.

Kundalini Yoga (as taught by Yogi Bhajan), is all about awareness of your mind, your body and your soul.
Using breath-control, mantra, mudra, asana postures, body-locks and meditation techniques you can quickly and effectively improve your physical, mental and emotional health, as well as experience a connection to your infinite self by activating your Kundalini – your infinite potential life force energy located at the base of your spine. Activating, moving and containing this energy is the key to holistic health, happiness and deep self-healing.
Each class consists of an introduction to an aspect of the Kundalini Yoga practise, followed by tuning in, warm-ups, a Kundalini Yoga "kriya" set, a deep relaxation, meditation and then tuning out.

Not only is it good for you, the tradition of Kundalini Yoga and meditation is also a lot of fun!

- Suitable for all ages and abilities, both men and women. (14yrs +)
- No experience of yoga is necessary.
- Please wear loose, comfortable clothing (layers are good)
- Bring a bottle of water
- Bring a blanket, warm socks and a yoga mat if you have one (I have some spare if you need to borrow one)
- You can also do the entire practise sitting on a chair: please get in touch so I can provide this for you
