Kinship Carers Support Group: Self Care - Looking after our own well being, The Arcade Building, Wednesday, 23. January 2019

A support group for family members who are caring for children who cannot be cared for by their birth parents (e.g. Grandparents, Aunts/Uncles, Family Friends).
We have set up this group for kinship carers who are parenting/caring for children who have experienced developmental trauma. This group will provide a safe supportive space to share experiences and gain support with the unique challenges faced by kinship carers.
Each session will begin with a half hour topic presentation relevant to Kinship care. The remainder of the session will be for discussion of the topic and social support time. The sessions will usually run on the last Wednesday of the month.
Thanks to funding from The Big Lottery this event is free to Berkshire carers. It will be lead by a PSC LAAC Specialist Parenting Practitioner and a PSC Peer Supporter. Other areas of PSC work receive no funding at all, for example our Helpline, so we are always grateful for any donations however large or small.
Refreshments provided.
Please note that we cannot accommodate children at this event.
