How Good is Our Youth Work?, Musselburgh East Community Learning Centre, Tuesday, 10. December 2019

Course Outline:
The course will increase knowledge of nature & purpose of youth work, develop knowledge of the national occupational Standards for Youth Work and be able to set achievable outcomes, which will improve reporting.

By the end of the session participants will have:
A deeper understanding of the values and principles of youth work strongly affirming the educative and developmental value of youth work in the lives of young people.
A recognition of the strong links between the Nature and Purpose of Youth Work and Curriculum for Excellence, particularly with regards to the young person-centred approach and an emphasis on empowerment and health and well-being.  
Awareness of the importance of providing evidence of the impact of your youth work practice; knowing what effect your work has had on young people, volunteers and the community.
Who is the Course Aimed at? 

 anyone who works with children and young people in a paid or voluntary capacity especially in a youth work setting.
 anyone who is interested in finding out more about self evaluation for youth work and what this means in practice.
