Gut Health Workshop - Microbiome & Fermented Foods, Unit S1 , Tuesday, 02. July 2019

As studies on the human body and health continue to evolve, you may have heard that the health of our gut can have a big impact on what’s happening in the rest of our body.
Now sometimes referred to as ‘the second brain’, it’s clear there’s more going on in our gut than we may be aware of.
This workshop will give you an introduction into probiotics, microbiome, ‘good’ vs ‘bad’ bacteria and the role they play in bodily functions and our overall health.
Then, we’ll introduce you to the what’s, why’s and how’s of the ancient art of fermenting food. You’ll learn about the benefits of fermented vegetables, and enjoy some samples. You’ll also get to have a go at making your own jar of sauerkraut to take home.
10am-12.30pm, light refreshments will be provided
Small charge made to cover cost of materials used on day
There is free parking on site either directly outside the centre and in any unmarked spaces on the business park.
As these workshops are growing in popularity, if you register and cannot attend, please let us know so we can offer your place to somebody else.
Please note the following:
1. Together Against Cancer (TAC) is a registered charity and offers this workshop on a free or by donation basis. Donations may be made on the day and are entirely voluntary. 2. The workshop is open to everyone over the age of 18. 3. Photographs may be taken at the workshop, which we may use in our publications and social media.
