Information on Gift Aid
UK taxpayers can make a massive difference to a charity like ours.
If you are a UK taxpayer paying for yourself and/or others to visit Emery Walker's House, you can choose to buy tickets that include a Gift Aid donation and the government allows us to reclaim the tax you’ve already paid at no cost to yourself. This means we will be able to claim back 25p for every £1.
If you choose a Gift Aid ticket you will be asked to make a declaration as part of the checkout process. The Emery Walker Trust is a company registered in England and Wales with number 09098614 and charity number 1158505. Our registered office is at 7 Hammersmith Terrace, London, W6 9TS.
Tours take place on Thursdays and Saturdays from April until November at 11am, 1pm and 3pm and last for approximately one hour. Please ensure that you arrive on time as the tours will start promptly. If you arrive slightly early there is a small reception area in which you can wait, some seating is available. Additionally folding stools can be provided for use during the tour itself.
We regret that refunds can only be made if a tour is cancelled. Please check all details carefully before processing your booking.
We request that you supply a contact number at the time of booking, which will only be used in the case of cancellation by us.
Transport and Parking
If you are travelling by car there are a few metered parking spaces in Hammersmith Terrace and more in St Peter’s Square, though spaces are in short supply. The nearest Underground station is Stamford Brook (District Line) and is an 11 minute walk. Turn right out of the station, down to St Peter’s Square and then through the Black Lion Lane underpass. Hammersmith Underground (Hammersmith & City, Circle and Piccadilly lines) is a 15 minute walk. Buses 27, 190, 267, 391, H91 serve King Street; alight at Goldhawk Road.
Accessibility and Facilities

Emery Walker's House is a tall, terraced Georgian house with narrow stairs between the three floors open to the public, as well as steps to the rear garden (46 steps in total). We regret that wheelchair or step free access is not possible.

Lighting levels are low throughout the building.

There is no accessible WC.

Due to the constraints of space, and the high density of furniture and other precious objects, the house is unsuitable for young children.

There is a small shop within the house's reception, selling a small range of postcards and gifts.

Refreshments are not available within the house but there are several options within walking distance.

If you require further information on accessibility please use the 'contact' button to send a message.
Unfortunately, due to copyright issues and the fragile nature of the building, photography is not permitted within the house.
Storage and Personal Property
We regret that backpacks, wheeled bags and other large items must be left in the reception area, though please note that this is at the owners' risk. Please do not chain bicycles to the railings at the front of the house as this obstructs the narrow pavement.
