GDPR What Happens Next ? , Risk Evolves Conference Room Jurys Inn Croydon, Friday, 06. September 2019

This workshop is especially suitable for Small Businesses, Sole Traders, Trustees and Leaders of Charities, Multi-Academy Trusts and any other Not For Profit organisation.  The course is jargon free, therefore no prior technical knowledge or experience is required to benefit from attending.

In the weeks following the 25th May 2018, the Information Commissioner has seen an increase in the number of complaints to its office, and more breach notifications. It seems many organisations are still struggling to implement a successful compliance program. They think they are on the right track but many are inadvertently making mistakes due to widespread misconceptions, and many more are failing to seize the opportunities
In this interactive half day workshop we explore the Good, the Bad and the Ugly of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Specifically, why the GDPR is not a tick box exercise, why it is crucial to be compliant and remain compliant, why personal information may be the new ‘gold’, what impact a breach will have on you and your company, the role of the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) and what are those cyber criminals up to now?
The 25th May was the start of a long journey to improve how organisations in the UK and Europe manage personal data. And it’s here to stay – regardless of Brexit.
By the end of this workshop you will be able to:

Explain what opportunities are that the GDPR presents for your business and how can you maximise them without being buried in paperwork?
