How do you feel about your health?
Even though you might be feeling great and think you're in pretty good shape, there still may be things you can do to improve your health.
Did you know that everyone is at risk of developing conditions such as heart disease, stroke, diabetes and kidney disease, especially if you’re aged over forty.  The good news is that the risk of developing these conditions can often be prevented, even if you have a history of them in your family.
Why might you need a Health Check?
Your lifestyle choices and certain things may affect your health and put you at even greater risk of developing the conditions listed above.  These include things such as:
• Being overweight
• Being physically inactive
• Smoking
• Drinking too much alcohol
• Having high blood pressure
A lot of people would like to be healthier, be less stressed, feel stronger and fitter, sleep better and have more energy.   So even if you’re feeling well, it still might be worth you having a Lifestyle Health Check to help you look your current lifestyle, and identify any areas where you may be able to make changes to become healthier, lose some weight, be fitter and look and feel better.

What happens at the Lifestyle Health Check?
The Health Check takes about 15 – 20 minutes, is non-invasive, and is used to look your current lifestyle and identify areas where you may be able to make changes to become healthier, lose some weight and be fitter.
We’ll ask you some questions and record some information about your lifestyle to help identify any areas for possible change.  Some of the things we will measure, record and talk to you about are:
- Your height and weight- Your body mass index and waist circumference- Your blood pressure and resting heart rate- Some lifestyle factors that may affect you health (such as physical activity levels, alcohl and if you smoke)

What happens after the check?
We’ll discuss your results with you and aim to give you personalised advice on how you may be able to improve your health and fitness. You can also ask questions, or discuss any issues or goals that you might have.  Where relevant and with your consent, this may include referring you to other organisations (such as your GP or other health services).  Your Health Check results and personal information will remain confidential, and not be shared without your express permission.
