Foundations of Handstand, L1 Performance, Saturday, 22. June 2019

Join Taylor and Dan for a two and a half hour handstand workshop that will give you the tools and techniques you need to start to build a consistent handstand practice. This workshop will help you build your confidence with handstands by providing a safe environment to learn how to move past fears of going upside down through drills and understand a greater sense of the alignment necessary to perfect a handstand. 
 
We will work through a variety of handstand specific drills and conditioning to build strength in the shoulders and core to make handstands more accessible. We will break down the different elements to handstand and focus on stretching and strengthening the different body parts that are necessary to find success when going upside down. We will also learn different spotting techniques as we work through partner drills to find more confidence with our handstands. 
This workshop will focus on the following:
* Wrist health
* Shoulder flexibility and strength
* Hamstring and hip flexibility and strength
* Core strength and the importance of it for inversions
* Conscious falling
* Moving past fear
* Drills & stretches to practice at home
* Partner drills and spotting 
* Correct technique for kicking into handstand
* Alignment and awareness of your body
