Foundation in Safeguarding
Saturday 25th April 2020, 10am to 1 pm at St Mark's Church, Reigate
Required for anyone who has safeguarding responsibilities or who have contact with children, young people and/or adults who may be vulnerable.
Including but not limited to: Safeguarding officers, safeguarding lead on PCC, church wardens, Readers in training, Ordinands prior to placement, spiritual directors, pastoral visitors, Bishops visitors, helpers at activities, servers, church administrative staff, members of religious communities who are in active ministry and work with vulnerable groups (children or adults).
 Learning objectives:
Be aware of the current legislation, policy and practice guidance for safeguarding
Be able to describe their own role and responsibilities in relation to safeguarding
Be aware of how to respond to safeguarding information, who to inform, how to refer and the boundaries of confidentiality
Be able to work safely in their role, knowing the appropriate boundaries for relationships
Explain why safeguarding matters
