Course Description
The One-Day training is First Aid for Mental Health. 
The level of qualification for the 1 day training is: RQF Level 2 Award:FAA Level 2 Award in First Aid for Mental Health (RQF)SCQF Level 5 Award:Award in First Aid for Mental Health at SCQF Level 5
Why take this course? 
Mental health is always in the headlines – and there’s a good reason for that:  Anyone can be affected by a mental health condition! Yes – nobody is immune from poor mental health.  We can have a mental health condition ourselves, or we may be trying to help a family member, friend or colleague.
If you’ve ever wanted to understand Mental Health better, or wanted to be able to help when you see someone is suffering – then this course is suitable for you to help you gain an understanding and to know what to do as the first point of aid and support (first aider).It will help employers to support positive mental health culture, and will provide learners with a broad knowledge of the most common mental health conditions, along with the skills to be able to act if and when someone needs help or support. Learners undertaking this course will be considered First Aiders for Mental Health and be a point of contact within the workplace to help and support those with a suspected mental health condition. In addition to getting a broad knowledge of signs and symptoms the course also introduces the First Aid for Mental Health Action Plan which allows learners to provide their peers with comprehensive guidance and support for suspected mental health conditions. Learners will be able to provide signposting to professional help and support that person whilst they are receiving professional course also covers the effects of drugs and alcohol and provides learners with the skills and knowledge to assist employers in implementing a positive mental health culture to support employees within a workplace.
NOTE:  This course is First Aid for Mental Health.  It is NOT MHFA or Mental Health First Aid which is branded by another organisation.  This course is regulated by OfQual and accredited by FAA
Course Aims & Objectives

A range of subjects are covered including:•    What is First Aid for Mental Health?•    Identifying mental health conditions•    Providing advice and starting a conversation•    Drugs and alcohol•    First Aid for Mental Health action plan•    First Aid for Mental Health in the workplace​​​​​​​Upon successful completion of the qualification assessment, Learners will be awarded the Ofqual regulated Level 2 Award in First Aid for Mental Health (RQF)/Award in First Aid for Mental Health at SCQF Level 5. This qualification is valid for three years from the date of achievement. It is strongly recommended that the learner attends annual refresher training. The learner will need to complete the full course again to requalify for a further three will get a comprehensive full colour manual to support their journey with mental health, and a certificate that is OFQUAL regulated
Sue Haswell
Sue is a qualified and experienced trainer and business coach, NLP Master Practitioner and Trainer, mindfulness & stress management specialist and qualified facilitator. 
She is also a qualified First Aid for Mental Health trainer, Mental Health awareness trainer, mindfulness and stress management specialist. 
She set up her communications consultancy in 1997 and expanded this in 2011 with Big Results Training.
