Aim: This event is specifically intended to support the professional development of secondary school Computing teachers, but other interested individuals are very welcome to attend. 
What to expect: Two afternoon sessions to choose from, the first session of the afternoon will be a two hour taught lesson with a Year 9 GCSE Computer Science class, with a 1 hour lunch break in the middle. The after-school session focuses on sharing great resources for teaching Computing and the best strategies for teaching programming. 
If you wish to attend the Computing lesson, please note there are limited spaces and booking for this closes 3pm on 19th March.

12pm - 3.10pm: Computing lesson: 

An opportunity to watch a 2 hour, Year 9 GCSE Computer Science lesson with a 1 hour lunch break in the middle. Observe a range of teaching strategies used to teach algorithms, computational thinking and text-based programming to a class of students. 

3.45pm - 5.15pm: CPD session: 
- Resource Roundup:  

Bring a resource along with you to show or share with others. It doesn't need to be anything particularly amazing or super-special it could be a teaching resource you have created or bought, or some student work.

- Strategy share: The best way to teach programming

An engaging, practical CPD session led by CAS Master Teacher, Alan O'Donohoe of highlighting some proven strategies for teaching programming in a secondary school setting.
