Embellished Upcycled Brooches, The Craft House, Saturday, 07. December 2019

Come along and create your very own stitched and embellished brooch using combinations of recycled and unusual materials. Beginners are more than welcome as embroidery artist Jessica Grady will teach you her colourful and contemporary techniques for creating 3D, creative designs. You will learn techniques including: layered and folded sequins, tufted embroidery and vertical beading. All materials are provided and you will leave the workshop with your very own unique piece of art to wear (or to give away as a brilliant Christmas present!).
Artist Bio
Jessica is a contemporary embroidery artist from Leeds. Her colourful and tactile work is filled with unusual embellishments and hand stitching. She exhibits her 3D embroidered works in galleries and shows across the UK and Europe and is a member of the international exhibiting groups Prism Textiles and Art Textiles Made in Britain. In 2018 she won the Embroiderer's Guild Scholar award for her creative approach to stitch. She also teaches her skills in workshops to groups, schools and universities across the country.
Skill Level: Suitable for Beginners as well as more experienced stitchers.
Cost: £40 per person, includes all materials and equipment usage. Complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits provided.
