Digital Electronics, South Exchange, Saturday, 05. October 2019

This is a two-day course providing a general introduction to the elements of the digital electronic circuits that form the basis of modern computers. The course is aimed at a general audience of all age groups. The content is descriptive with a minimum use of mathematics. You will learn about the how basic digital logic circuits, such as gates, flip-flops, counters and decoders work and how an entire computer can be constructed from these basic elements. You will build and test some simple logic circuits and have some fun with random number generators.
The course delivery is interactive with “hands-on” circuit building exercises that are designed to be fun as well as informative. Some basic knowledge of electronics is assumed and those interested in this course would benefit from taking the “Basic Electronics” course beforehand.
