Dance/Movement Therapy 5-week workshop(Full Mobility), Mansions of the Future, Friday, 20. September 2019

Dance/movement therapy (DMT) has been devised to promote physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Overtime progress will gradually manifest as a deeper understanding of the body whilst helping participants to improve their physical well-being and potentially enhance quality of life.
DMT can be carried out using verbal and non-verbal models of expression. Non-verbal expression can be presented as touch, movement, spatial interaction or even rhythm. Verbal expression gives participants a theoretical understanding of DMT. Techniques incorporated into DMT include Yoga, Pilates, Alexander technique, Feldenkrais, Laban movement analysis and Gaga. Sessions often include observation, warm-ups, interventions, verbal processing, and warm-down phases.
This series of DMT sessions is split into two groups, one for participants with full mobility and another one for participants with limited mobility. However, in the taster sessions everyone is welcome and the group will be mixed. This workshop is for adults only.
Cost for participants: £5 per session (5 sessions = £25 + VAT £2.54) First 2 "Taster sessions" are free. There are limited places available for these workshops, please book tickets in advance. Each session is different and I recommend that participants attend all sessions in the 7-week series (two free taster sessions and 5-week workshop).
Full mobility sessions will be running every Friday from 20th September to 18th October:
20th September 5.30pm-7.00pm
27th September 5.30pm-7.00pm
