Creative Writing - Short Stories: 4 week course, The Talleyrand, Monday, 13. January 2020

This winter, give yourself the time to write and transform your ideas into short stories in this welcoming series of workshops. 
Join local writer, Richard V. Hirst. as he helps you combine craft and technique with your imagination to create fiction, with a look at different approaches, styles and authors, and a series of creative writing exercises.
Over the four weeks you will:

Engage in a series of fun and inspiring writing exercises.
Develop the skills and confidence to create your own fiction.
Learn about techniques and find inspiration in the work of other writers.
Learn about editing your work and getting it published.

This workshop is suitable for anyone (16+) keen to create short stories, whether they already have some experience in the field and looking to sharpen their skills or are a complete novice just starting out. All that's needed is a pad and a pen and a willingness to get stuck in.
The workshop runs on four consecutive Monday evenings 8:00-10.00pm at The Talleyrand - the cost of the course is £60 for all four weeks:

Richard V. Hirst is an award-winning writer based in Levenshulme. He was the 2011 winner of the Manchester Fiction Prize and is the co-author of three novels, including The Night Visitors, which was a winner at the 2017 Saboteur Awards. He is the editor of We Were Strangers: Stories Inspired by Unknown Pleasures and is a recent recipient of a grant from Arts Council England. His writing has appeared in The Guardian, Time Out and The Big Issue, among others.
