We recommend that participants complete the Domestic Violence/ Risk Assessment, MARAC & Safety Planning session prior to this session.
The Wolverhampton Domestic Violence Forum’s Coercive Control and Domestic Abuse training session is a 3 hour session designed to increase professionals' awareness of the prevalence of coercive control and the central role it plays in cases of domestic violence/abuse.

Understand ‘what is coercive control’ and how the concept was developed.
Explore the myths and stereotypes regarding Domestic Violence/Abuse, focusing on victim blaming. 
Understand the difficulties that victims/survivors **** due to coercive control/DA.
Understand coercive control/DA within a context of power and control.
Understand the law, criminal justice system and policing practice in relation to coercive control.
Understand how to access support services for victims/survivors.
Explore how you as a professional should respond to victims of coercive control/DA.

Due to limited spaces please cancel your place via Eventbrite if you are no longer able to make it.
There is paid parking available at the Civic Centre. Upon arrival you will be asked to sign in and wait at reception until your trainer collects you - please note any late attendees may be turned away on the day.
