Business Waste: Your Duty of Care Workshop (Thanet), UK, Wednesday, 11. March 2020

Calling all local small businesses and waste collectors! Are you disposing of your waste legally and completing the correct paperwork?
According to UK government statistics, there were more than 1 million fly-tipping incidents dealt with by UK councils in the year 2016/17, an average of over 2,000 every day. The cost to local authorities was £58 million, or approximately £2 on every household’s annual council tax bill.
Fly-tipping is a serious criminal offence for which you can be prosecuted. The courts have various powers available to them to tackle fly-tipping, including imprisonment, substantial fines of up to £50,000 orders to pay costs and an order to deprive rights to a vehicle used to commit the offence.
This FREE workshop will outline the relevant legislation and explore case studies, best practise and practical solutions to help you meet your legal requirements in relation to your Duty of Care with regards waste. Lunch will be provided
If you are a small business and want to know if you are disposing of your waste legally or if you operate a waste clearance business and want to make sure you are complying with the law THIS IS FOR YOU!
