Beginners Woodcarving Course (1 Day)

Learn how to carve and grasp the opportunity to experience the creativity and joy of woodcarving. This course is designed for those just beginning to discover woodcarving and will introduce and develop key skills and techniques. Be guided by your tutor as you learn the stages and work towards producing your own carving. What you will learn You will learn how to carve using a wide range of traditional and modern tools. With guidance from your tutor, you will work through the stages to create your finished piece. Throughout the day your tutor will give advice on choosing timbers suitable for carving, design, tool selection, sharpening and technique. You can expect to gain the knowledge you need to start carving, knowing you are on the right path from the beginning and giving you the confidence to develop your skills and take you on to the next step. Additional notes You will start your day with a welcome talk, including a hot drink, health and safety brief and a breakdown and review of the equipment you will be using. No experience is needed. The minimum age is 14 years old and anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an ***** for the duration of the course and must not be left unattended during class hours.
