Beginner's Crochet Mornings with Di Stewart - 14th and 28th Sept, Spin A Yarn, Saturday, 14. September 2019

Join us in our award-winning yarn shop in Bovey Tracey for a workshop from Di Stewart. Di has all the City and Guild qualifications to ensure that you become confident in crochet before you know it.

This workshop is for absolute beginners and for returners/others who feel the need to go back to basics!
It consists of two sessions, held on Saturday 14th and 28th September from 10.30am - 1.30pm - ideal for those whose work or childcare commitments make it hard to attend workshops during the week.
In the first session you will learn the basic crochet techniques:- how to hold the hook and yarn and make a chain and basic stitches, double crochet and treble.
We will be working backwards and forwards to make a straight piece and also making basic flowers working from a small circle.
In session two you will build on the skills already gained:- using basic stitches we will be making Granny squares. Also continue working straight and learning how to increase/decrease stitches
Working from the Granny Square pattern you will start to build simple pattern reading skills.
Please bring DK yarn to practice with (not too dark or textured)
Hooks will be available to borrow on the day.
Tea-time treats and refreshments will be served in the afternoon.
Either book through here Eventbrite, call 01626 836203 or pop into the shop in person.
Workshop attendees receive a discount voucher on the day, valid for one month from the date of the workshop on yarn and accessories.
