Will attending the workshops enable me to sell any products I make at home?
After completing workshop SK1: Introduction to making organic skincare products, you will be able to make skincare products for yourself and your family. However, there are important considerations and legal requirements for selling products to the public, so you will need to learn about and adhere to these regulations. If you are thinking about making products to sell, consider booking a place on SK2: From crafter to entrepreneur: Making and selling your own products to the public.
What facilities are available at the venue?
Tutbury Village Hall is easily accessible in the centre of historic Tutbury, in sight of Tutbury Castle. All facilities are on one level, with ramped access at the main door. There are male and female toilets and an accessible toilet just inside the large and welcoming entrance hall. There is also a large kitchen with a fridge and cooking/warming facilities if you wish to bring something hot for lunch, and a large urn (essential for tea and coffee!).
There is a small amount of onsite parking, with one accessible parking space. There is also a free car park at the top of Monk Street.
What do I need to bring to the workshop?
We will provide all the equipment and ingredients you will need for the day. We have small tables to work on and there are ample chairs for resting or sitting chatting at break times.
A notepad and pen will be useful. Although we will be providing materials for you to take home, it is always a good idea to jot down a few notes to remind yourself what, how or why you did something!
We would advise that you wear comfortable shoes and clothes, as we may be standing, stirring and mixing for a while. Although you will be wearing an apron, we will be working with oils, so don’t wear your favourite clothes!
You are welcome to bring a packed lunch, or you can visit one of our local cafes. We will provide refreshments, so please let us know if you have any allergies, intolerances or dislikes.
We start at 09.30 with introductions and refreshments, and finish at 15.30, with half an hour for lunch.
If you still have questions that we haven’t answered, please email us on workshops@
