*Please note that we are hoping to run this workshop from our new premises in the centre of Bingley (109-111 Main Street, Bingley, BD16 2HT) and we will contact you prior to the workshop to confirm the location. Join talented yorkshire artist Paula Dunn for an informal 3-day workshop on using oil paints and cold wax medium. Cold wax is used at room temperature without heat and when combined with oil paints, it can be used to produce depth and atmosphere to both abstract and landscape work. Working with oil and cold wax involves a lot of experimentation and a willingness to start out without knowing where you will end up. We will not be planning or sketching out ideas but working intunitively and letting our work evolve. This will be challenging but you will learn more about your creative process and you will leave eager to experiment more with this medium. Building on existing knowledge, the workshop will focus on developing advanced techniques such as solvent pours, glazes and blending as well as covering technical aspects realting to tools, surfaces, colour, values, textures, shapes and composition. There will also be an opportunity to learn how to make your own cold wax and transfer papers. The workshop will include information about techniques, as well as demonstrations and plenty of time for dedicated and focused painting and individual support.
