Mindscape Psychology Ltd are offering two one day training events focusing upon Act which is a Contextual Behavioural Therapy Model. This one or two-day event is suitable for people new to the model and wanting to find out more about the approach and how they might use it in their work (healthcare or educational settings) and personal lives. 
ACT Basics (An Introduction to Acceptance and Commitment Therapy)
What is ACT:  ACT is an empirically-based psychological intervention that uses acceptance, mindfulness, commitment and change strategies to increase psychological flexibility
Workshop: The workshop will be didactic and experiential and will be useful for participants’ personal lives and in working in various healthcare and educational settings. It will cover: 


Six core processes in the Act Model


The role of psychological flexibility in understanding human behaviour and why we can become stuck


The nature of human suffering, the role of evolutionary biology and the function of language


A unified model for working with varied presentations / different people


Control strategies and how they maintain emotional distress


How human beings can live a fulfilling and meaningful life with emotional and physical pain
